Mother of Hazrat Essa, Jesus A.S (Hazrat Maryam)

0

‘’Recall, when the angel said: O, Maryam! Allah gives you the glad tidings of a command from Him. His name shall be messiah, Jesus A.S son of Mary, illustrious in this world and the Hereafter; and shall be of those brought near to Allah’’ (AL IMRAN)

Who is Jesus A.S?

(Christ) Jesus A.S whom Quran has attributed to his mother and is called Essa A.S son of Hazrat Maryam. Mothers really deserve to be proud of this attribution. Hazrat Maryam A.S is the mother whom Allah purified and chose among other women of the world. The truth of the story of Hazrat Maryam motherly love is very much impressive. She had to encounter much more distressing circumstances. She was born of a religious family. Her father was a great intellectual of Bani Israel. When her mother was pregnant. She vowed to dedicate her newborn child for serving Bait-Ul-Maqdas (place of worshipping in Jerusalem)

As Allah says;

‘’Recall, when the wife of Imran said: ‘’O my Lord! Surely I dedicate to you what is in my womb purely to your service, so accept this offering of mine; surely you alone are the all hearing (of prayers) and the all knowing (of intention).

‘’Then when she gave birth to it, she said (wistfully): ‘’ Lord! Surely I have but given birth to a female.’’ And Allah knew best what she had given birth to. And the male which she had solicited was nowise like the female that was born. And the mother said: ‘’ I have named her Maryam, and I command her and her progeny to your protection from the mischief of Satan, the outcast.

Right graciously by then did her Lord accept the girl with true acceptance and caused her to grow with perfect growth. And caused Hazrat Zikriah Zechariah to be her guardian. Whenever Zechariah paid a visit to Mary in her sanctuary he found, she had fresh provision with her. Once he said: O’ Mary! Whence comes onto you this provision? Mary said: ‘’this comes from Allah.’’ Surely Allah provides sustenance to whom he wills without measure.’’  (AL-IMRAN)

Her father Imran had died in her childhood. And there was controversy among her relatives about her ‘’up bringing’’. They drew lots to decide the matter. According to the draw her maternal uncle Zechariah A.S was assigned the responsibility of her upbringing. Allah says about this incident in the Holy Quran:

‘’ These (incidents) are of the tidings of things unseen that we reveal unto you. And you were not with them when those (persists of the temple) were casting lots by throwing their quills to decide as to whom, Should have charge of Mary; nor were you with them when they were contending with one another about it.’’

Mary remained busy in meditation day in and day out besides her row of serving Bait-Ul-Maqdas. Even though, Allah chose her for granting her his great trust. One day she was busy in meditation when Allah sent His angel to give her glad tidings, as Allah says.

‘’Recall, when the angel said:’’ O Mary! Allah gives you the glad tidings of a command from Him. His name shall be Messiah Jesus A.S son of Mary, Illustrious in this world and the hereafter and shall be of those brought near to Allah.’’

No sooner did she listened this glad tidings then she started shivering and begged humbly to Allah as the Quran says,

‘’ Mary said (in astonishment ‘’good Allah); how can there be a son to me whereas no man has touched me, nor have I been unchaste’’ Gabriel said; so it is, your Lord has said; to bestow a child is easy to me, that we may make him a sign (of our might) to people and Mercy from us. And it is a matter already decreed.’’ (SURAH MARYAM)

She listened this and bowed before inevitable divine command. After a few days she felt sign of pregnancy. This feeling was really a boundless anguish and unbearable pain for a chaste virgin. She felt the city because of impending humiliations and disgrace and started living in a barren valley, which was left by shepherds for being deserted. When the time of delivery came she took lean of a date palm tree. Mean while Jesus A.S was born in this world, and she said at that moment,

‘’She said (wistfully) would that I had died before this, and become a thing forgotten and lost from sight.’’ (SURAH MARYAM)

Then happened; what was bound to be happened,

‘’Then she brought the baby to her people carrying him (in her lap). They said; O, Mary! You have indeed committed a thing most vile. O, Sister of Haroon! Your father was not a man of evil, nor was your mother an unchaste woman.’’ (SURAH MARYAM)

People in spite of being completely acquainted with the modesty and virtuosity of Mary, they neither paid any heed to her, nor considered the miraculous birth of this innocent child. On the contrary they just put that false accusation on her. She endured that situation with a great patience. She embraced the will Allah and stood like a rock for her son against those inevitable, regretful problems, which were nothing short of a death.

It is also mentioned in a narration that she had carried her son to Egypt in order to avoid the torture of her opponents. She stayed there for twelve years. She had to spin cotton (thread) and glean wheat from the field in order to earn her living. Look! What do you think of that scene, when Maryam had lifted Jesus A.S on her one shoulder and a pile of wheat on the other?

When Jesus A.S grew up, she thought of his education and took him to a school and gave him under the supervision of a teacher. Then Allah commanded her to go to ‘’Jerusalem’ so that she could pray according to Moses A.S religion. She started dwelling in a village called ‘’Nasirah’’. Jesus A.S also grew young in that village. Whenever he dreamt of anything he used to tell it to his mother, who the only gleam of his hopes under those grievances. She used to encourage and console him.

It is stated in Bible that when Jesus A.S was 29 years old, he along with his mother went to the mountain of ‘’ Olive’’ to pick up olives. Where he dreamt and was told,

‘’ You have been sent to Bani Israel as a messenger, ‘He told his mother all about it and informed her that he would have to face so many problems on his way as it was revealed on him. He further said that would no longer stay with her nor could serve her as usual.

When Mary heard this, she replied,

‘’ O, my Son! Sublimity to Holy name of Allah; who had already informed me about this, before your birth.’’

On that very day Jesus A.S left his mother and started performing his duty as a messenger. His mother accompanied him for 30 years. During this period she trained him for such a great and noble aim, for which he was waiting eagerly. Though he did leave his mother yet both of them became everlasting sign of Allah in His way. As Allah says;

‘’ And we made the son of Mary and his mother (Maryam) a sign.’’ (SURAH AL MOUMINEEN)

At another occasion Allah says,

‘’And we made her and her son Jesus A.S a sign for the mankind.’’ (AL-ANBIYAH)

Mother of Jesus A.S, Hazrat Maryam is the one of the most valuable being and blessed soul for whom the extolment for all her living and spiritualism. May Almighty Allah showers the great blessings upon the spiritual blessed soul of Hazrat Maryam A.S…….. Amen

Mother of Moses A.S

Part III

Allah says in Surah Al-Qasas:-

‘’ And We inspired the mother of Moses A.S saying; ‘’ Keep suckling him(without fear); then when you fear for him, cast him into the river, and the fear not, nor grieve; for surely We shall return him to you and We are going to make him a messenger.’’

Then the family of Pharaoh picked him up (from the river) that he might (in the end) be an enemy to them and a cause of grief and sorrow, Surely Pharaoh and Human and their armies.

And the wife of Pharaoh said ;(My Lord!) this child is but coolness of the eyes for you and me. Slay him not, perhaps he may be of benefit to us, or we may adopt him as a son; and they could not perceive (the outcome of their plan).

And next morning the heart of Moses A.S Mother become restless. And she had nearly given out the secret if We had not strengthened her heart so that she might remain convinced of the promise of Allah. And she said to Moses A.S sister ‘’follow him’’ so she kept watching him from a distance. And they did not perceive (the reality of) it.

And We had already forbidden all wet nurses for him. So Moses A.S sister said; ‘’shall I direct you to household who may bring up the child for you. And would also be well wishers of the child’’ So (in this way) We returned him to his mother to cool her eyes at the sight of the child. And feel not grieved (at his separation) and that she might also know that the promise of Allah is always true. But most of the people know not (this truth).

And when Moses A.S reached the prime of his life and his upbringing was completed. We granted him wisdom and knowledge. And thus do We reward the well doers. Allah says in Surah –e Taha: Surely you are granted your request O’ Moses!. And surely we bestowed on you a favour at another time before this as well. When we revealed to your mother (by inspiration) that which was to be revealed. That put the baby in to a box. Then cast the box into the river. The river will cast it upon the shore then it will be picked up by one who is an enemy to me and an enemy to him. And (O; Moses A.S!) I cast on you a reflection of love from Myself so that whoever saw you might love you and you be brought up under My sight. Recall, when your sister came walking along and said (to pharaoh household) May I tell you of one who may nurse him. So (thus) did we bring you back to your mother that she might cool her eyes at your sight and she should not grieve.

And (remember) when you killed a man, then we delivered you from distress and grief and tested you well. Then you stayed for many years among the people of midian, and then you came here according to an appointment decreed. O’ Moses! A.S.

Surah –E- Taha(36-40):

In this way it was revealed on the mother of Moses A.S and a responsibility was put to her shoulders through Divine command to save Moses A.S from oppression and tyrannies of Pharaoh who did not spare even a single child of Bani Israel since long time, because this child had to become a venerable messenger of Allah later on.

Mothers are all in higher stature by Lord Almighty but the mother of prophets were patient upon so many hardships and trials of life and truth. They were the true believer of Almighty Allah’s favors. In the HOLY QUR’AN the descriptions for Prophet Moses A.S are mentioned on various Surat and his mother’s descriptions is also there. May Allah bless the souls of such splendor beings who were so obedient to their Creator and they were too fortunate souls who got the Creator’s great favors.

Mother of Moses A.S

Part II

She obeyed that Divine command and put some cotton in the box, suckled the innocent apple of her eyes and put him asleep in the box. She locked it tightly and cast it in the river Nile. Can it be imagined? What must have been her condition, when she had consigned her innocent son to the bloody and merciless waves of the river? Most of the historians who described this event had avoided putting light on the miserable plight of the mother of Moses AS. Her eyes were fixed at the box carried away by the waves of the river. But a few of historians have depicted the scene of those painful moments and said that when the box had gone out of her sight and that dreadful environment terrified her then she realized that she herself and consigned her son to the merciless waves of the river. It seemed that she hit upon no plan to save her son from tyrannical clutches of Pharaoh, except it. Thus she realized that on the one hand she had saved him from pharaoh’s killing, but on the other she herself had cast him in the jaws of fish. Salabi says:

‘’ When she cast Moses AS into river Nile and he disappeared from her sight, Satan came in delude her. She started saying on her heart of heart about her treatment with her son.
She thought that it was better to bury her son after being slaughtered by Pharaoh than making him food for creatures of river.’’

I think, it is the part of the narrations told by Israelites, which were publicized by those Jews who later on embraced Islam, because there is nothing about ‘’ Satanic delusion’’ in the Holy Quran. Quran rejects it; because it has been clearly mentioned in the holy Quran that mother of Moses AS was commanded by Allah to cast her son in the river.

Hazrat Moses AS mother does not like to go back to home and stays at the bank of the river. She is sunk into the grief of her son, when her daughter Maryam reaches there in search of her mother. She consoled her mother and brings her back to home. Then Allah grants he comfort and solace, as Quran says:

‘’ And the next morning the heart of Moses As mother became restless. And she had nearly given out the secret if we had not strengthened her heart so that she might remains convinced of the promise of Allah.’’

The currents of the river took Moses AS near an orchard contiguous with Pharaoh’s palace. His housemaid used to fetch water from there. No sooner did they see the box then they took it out and carried to their queen Sayyidah Aasiyah the wife of Pharaoh. They thought the treasure of precious pearls. When the box was opened, they were taken aback to see a handsome innocent baby inside it. He was smiling delightfully at Sayyidah Aasiyah. When she cast her affectionate eye on him. She felt extreme love for him, as he was her own son, she thought him to be a divine gift specially conferred to be a deprived mother having no child of her own. She had sunk into this fancy when Pharaoh’s soldiers came there and demanded for the baby. She ordered them,

‘’ Go back, this child has no relation with Bani Israel when she found them in confusion, she told them politely to let her solve the matter by herself. She said, ‘’I myself shall go the Pharaoh in order to request him to give this child to me. If he agrees, then al-right, otherwise you will be allowed to kill him. I won’t rebuke you.’’
She took Moses AS to Pharaoh and said.

‘’ And the wife of Pharaoh said this child is but coolness of the eyes for me and you. Slay him not perhaps he may be of benefit to us, or we may adopt him as a son.’’
He replied:

”He May be a comfort for yr eyes but I don’t like him. He soon repented on his mistake and ordered to kill him because he may be of Bani Israel, who may cause to tread over him and his kingdom under his feet.’’

But Sayyidah Aasiyah kept insisting on her demand eventually Pharaoh agreed to hand over the child to her. She carried the child in to Royal Palace. Her joy knew no bounds. Mother of Moses AS was sitting aggrieved among Jews. She was sunk into this thought if she could ever see her son again. She told her daughter Maryam to go after him to get some information about him.

Maryam started looking for her brother on foot and reached at the bank of the river Nile. There she came to know that there was a little child in queen’s palace who had not accepted the suckling of any woman. She said in her heart of heart that he must be her brother. She took several round of royal palace very carefully, where she was seen by Asiyah’s maidservants. They were in fact looking for suckling woman, who may be accepted by the child for suckling. When Maryam came to know all about it, she controlled herself and concealed her emotions while entering into the royal palace and said meticulously,

‘’Shall I direct you to a housewife who may bring up the child for you, and would also be well wisher of the child’’

She replied dogmatically,’’ I wish only your goodness’’. They further asked. ‘’ Perhaps you have some information about the parents of this baby, otherwise how can say them to be well-wisher of him.
It is very simple, she replied I only know that they are very kind hearted and virtuous. They will intimately take over the responsibility of bringing up the child in a hope to be favored by the king. This reply assured them to some extends. They carried the baby and followed Maryam. On the other hand mother of Moses AS was lost in her grief and agony. She did not know what blessing and eternal bless was about to conferred on her by Allah.

No sooner did she see the baby then she unabatedly wished to cheer out, but she deliberately got over herself patiently. She embosomed the child with deep love and affection. They were surprised to see the child who had already rejected every suckling woman Was now busy in suckling heartily.

When Moses AS had sucked milk to his heart’s content, they brought mother of Moses as to Aasiyah and told her everything in detail. She said to the mother of Moses AS to stay with them for suckling the baby. But she replied, ‘’ Would you like to allow me to carry the baby with me to my house where I’ll suckle and take care of him for good because rest of my children may be in trouble in my absence. So I am bound to stay at my own home.’’

Obviously, this attitude of Moses As mother looked strange, why she had denied living in royal palace along with her son. But no wonder, circumstances were in her favor. Mosses AS did not accept the suckling of any other woman except her. She was quite conversant to the fact that Aasiyah had an intimate love for baby. That is why she kept insisting on carrying the baby to her home where she could extinguish the thirst of motherly love, away from spies of the king and environment of the place.

If she stayed in the palace she would have two choices ‘’ Desirable and undesirable’’. Desirable choice was painful for her because she had to control her passion and motherly love so that none could be suspicious of her attitude. On the other hand if she had disclosed the secret of her motherly love she would have handed over her son to the murderer by herself. But she had absolutely firm belief in blessings of Allah. Therefore she selected her own home for the betterment of her son. Salabi says:

‘’The mother of Moses AS remembered Allah’s promise that is why she did not accede to Asiyah’s proposal. Because she was quite sure that Allah would fulfill His promise.’’

Aasiyah has no other option but to agree to the proposal of Moses AS mother. She had a great importance for the life and survival of child. Thus she allowed her to carry the child. In this way mother of Moses AS carried him to her home…………………………….

Part I
‘’ And we inspired the mother of Moses A.S saying : ‘Keep suckling him (without fear); but when you fear for him ,cast him into the river, and fear not, nor grieve; verily we shall bring back to you and we are about to make him a messenger.’’

There is nothing mentioned about the father of Moses A.S in the Holy Quran but has been mentioned only about his mother who suckled and brought him up. It was the time when Pharaoh had badly afflicted Bani Israel, made them slaves and oppressed them.

It is narrated that once an enigmatic dream bewildered him. He sent for many magicians, astrologers (fortune-tellers) and dream interpreters to know about the connotation of his dream. They told him that a child would be born of Bani Israel, who would snatch his kingdom, exile his nation from that Island and finish his religion. And the time of his birth has come yet.

Having heard this news he maddened with wrath and ordered to assassinate every newborn boy of Bani Israel .For this throughout the country. In this way Pharaoh got assassinated seventy thousand newborn boys of Bani Israel. Moses A.S was also born during those days. His mother was trembling with fear and widwife felt sorry for her and promised that she would not tell anyone about the birth of that child. It is also mentioned in some narrations that midwife was deeply impressed by the innocent beauty and elegance of Moses AS and was enchanted to him that is why she did not give him to the men of Pharaoh to kill him. But Pharaoh’s detectors saw her coming out from the house of Moses A.S. They had besieged the house and were about to capture the child, when Moses A.S sister Maryam saw them and told her mother in puzzlement that Pharaoh’s soldiers were at door.

During this moment of anxiety, Allah revealed on Moses A.S mother to wrap him in a piece of cloth and cast him into and burning oven. She did the same. After that soldiers came into the house. They found nothing but mother and sister of Moses A.S who were busy in their work. They inquired wrathfully of the visit of midwife. They replied solemnly that she was their friend and had come to see them. Hearing this reply, soldiers went away.

Now Moses A.S Mother was under taken by the anguish about her son. In the meanwhile she heard the voice of her son from the oven and went running to bring him out of burning oven. By the grace of Allah, Moses AS was not even touched by fire. Now the fact was quite obvious to her that it wasn’t out of danger to keep the child with her any more. She was still under this deep contemplation when Allah revealed on her.

‘’That put the baby Moses AS into a box. Then cast the box into the river will cast it upon the shore then it will be picked up by one who is an enemy to me and him’’………………….

Then………………..Then she ran quickly towards opposite hill called Marwah; in order to find any beam of life. But nothing visible even at a long distance. In this way she has taken several rounds between Safah and Marwah. She became dead tired and sat down on the ground while embracing the will of Allah.

But innocent’s thirst had shattered her heart. It was the most difficult moment and examination for motherly love to watch the apple of her eyes; who was eagerly crying for water. She mustered up her courage and separated herself gradually from the son and put scarf on her face and said,

‘’I can’t endure to see my son while departing this world’’

She felt as if the whole universe stood still for some moments. Nothing but crying of the innocent baby in severe thirst and bewailing of his mother was echoing in the valley. And besides this were the voices of fierce beasts, looking for their preys around the valley.
However, Allah had decided something else to sooth her torrent grief. A bird that was flying over the valley came down and started digging the earth with his beak. Within the wink of an eye the spring of Aab-e-Zamzam gushed up .This miracle gave a new life to Hazrat Hajirah, who rushed forward and gave water to her son first. Then herself quenched her own thirst.

The spring on Abe-e-Zamzam brought about a new beam of hope in dried and barren valley. During those days a caravan of Jarham passed by Makkah while going to Syria. They stayed in a lower area of Makkah and saw a bird hovering over the valley. They said to one another that there must be water- spring where bird was flying. But they were surprised, because they had already passed through this valley several times in the past. But didn’t find any drop of water. Then they sent one of their men to know the fact. He returned with optimistic news of a water-spring. After that they came to Hajirah and requested her to allow them to stay near water-spring whereas water spring would be in her own ownership. She allowed them. Thus they settled there.
Hazrat Ismail (A.S) grew up in that environment. When he entered into the bloom age his father Abraham (A.S) come to them to tell them about his dream as Allah says,

‘’Abraham (A.S) said, O’my dear son! I have dreamt that I am sacrificing you; now say what is your opinion? He replied O’ my father! Do as you are commanded if it is the will of Allah you shall find me among patient ones.(Al-Saffat-102)

Then occurred the greatest incident of sacrifice (Slaughtering) which is unparallel in history. When Abraham (A.S) had intended to sacrifice his son Allah sent a beautiful Ram from the Heaven and revealed on him to sacrifice that Ram in place of his submissive and patient son. Then Allah commanded him to construct Bait-Ullah (Allah’s house). He constructed it along with son Ismail A.S and made it consecrated for those who circumambulate it, bow their heads and perform prayer. And these benedictory words were flowing from his Holy tongue,

O’ Our Lord! Accept this (service) from us verily you hear and know everything O’ Lord! Make us submissive to your will and raise from our offspring a community, submissive to you and teach us our rites of worship and, forgive our trespasses, for you are compassionate and merciful. And send to them, O, Lord! An Apostle from among them to import your message to them.’’ Al-Baqara 125-129

Then Allah commanded Abraham A.S to call upon people for performing Hajj (pilgrimage). Allah acceded to his prayer and sent His respected messenger, venerable Prophet and head of apostles Muhammad PBUH in his posterity. Thus Muhammad PBHU belongs to the posterity of Hazrat Ismail A.S son of Sayyidah Hajirah. Her motherly love tolerated many worries and distress, which has become the part of history. Her strife between Safa and Marwah has become the part of rites of Hajj. This strife reminds us of that motherly love every year.

‘’ O, our lord! I have settle some of my off spring in this valley, where in there is no cultivation in the neighborhood of your sacred house, O our lord! In order that they may establish prayers, so cause people’s hearts to the incline towards them with love and devotion, and provide them with fruits, haply they may be thankful,’’

The story of Hazrat Hajirah mother of Hazrat Ismail A.S has been mentioned in detail in the Bible. The Holy Quran has also insinuated to it at various places, since that, the Holy Quran does not give comprehensive detail of any incident but focuses only on the substance of that very incident. The purpose behind this philosophy is to consolidate the attention of human being towards admonition.
Allah had deputed Hazrat Ismail A.S’s mother for bringing up her son when father of Hazrat Ismail A.S Hazrat Abraham A.S left both of them in a barren valley. The anxiety of Hazrat Hajirah for her son, her eagerness on his inextinguishable thirst and palpitation, her running between Safa and Marwah in search of water has become the part of history and an example for the people. This is unforgettable and lasting picture of motherly love. Her pains and exertions are so purified that they have been regarded as a part of worshiping.

Who is Hazrat Sayyidah Hajirah?

She was a frail and feeble maidservant. She was daughter of the king of Egypt. Having being impressed by dignity and nobleness of Hazrat Sairah, the king decided to send his daughter with her as a house maid and thought it a great privilege for him and his family. He said,
‘’ It is better for my daughter to live like housemaid in Sairah’s house then to live a queen in any other house.’’It was the tradition of that society that the second wife was considered the maid servant of the first wife. Sairah the wife of Hazrat Abraham A.S took Hajirah along with her from Egypt to Kennan. Sairah had become very old but was not blessed with any child. One day she thought to bequeath her maid servant to Hazrat Abraham A.S. After some time, be the Grace of Allah Hajirah became pregnant. Now, Hazrat Sairah started blazing with womanish jealousy, which lies in almost every woman. She felt that her maidservant was looking down upon her with a great pride.
One day she complained against her to Hazrat Abraham A.S that she had given him, her maidservant who was expressing her pride and superiority for a few days. He replied very politely. ‘’ She is your maidservant, you may treat her as you wish.’’
Hazrat Sairah didn’t say anything to her maidservant and became silent. But when Hazrat Ismail A.S was born to Hajirah, she could not endure it and swore that she would no longer live with her maidservant in the same house.
Sairah kept on afflicting Hazrat Abraham A.S even, one day he left his home and set off towards the South. Sayyidah Hazrat along with her innocent newborn baby Ismail A.S also followed him. He thought of finding a place of refuge for his son in Makkah, where there were some relics of Allah’s house (Bait Ulla). This is the same Bait Ulla (Allah’s house) in which the very first prayer was performed on the earth. Makkah was barren in those days, and there was no sign of population. Bedouin’s caravan had rarely come and stayed there. Some people of Amaliqah tribe were living away from Makkah. They used to come in search of water and grass time and again.

Hazrat Abraham A.S left Hajirah and Ismail A.S on the mound, while giving some dates and a leather bag of water. He further told them to make a hut with leaves and branches of date palms. When he was returning while leaving them alone. Hajirah terrified by that dreadful barren desert and said,‘’ Please don’t go back leaving us alone in this deserted plain.’’
But neither paid any heed to her nor replied. He feared of surrendering before motherly love of a broken hearted, confused and miserable mother. Hajirah repeated her question again ‘’ Where are you going while leaving us alone? Where there is no sign of any human being’’ But again he did not pay any attention, even when he reached at the end of the valley he heard a heart-rending voice of Hajirah. She asked. ‘’ Has Allah commanded you to leave me and my son in this barren valley?’’
Hazrat Abraham A.S did not turn back to her and replied. Yes! Having heard this reply, she surrendered and said. ‘’ Alright, Allah will never leave us helpless.’’ She bowed her head quietly and paid no attention to Hazrat Abraham A.S. no sooner did Hazrat Abraham A.S cross the valley and went behind a mound then he prayed to Allah submissively and humbly.

‘’O our Lord! I have settled some of my off spring in this valley, where in there is no cultivation in the neighborhood of your Holy house. O our Lord! So that they may be constant in prayer; so cause people hearts to incline towards them love and devotion and provide them with fruits, haply they may be grateful.’’
O our Lord! Verily you know what we conceal (in our hearts) and what we disclose. And nothing is hidden from Allah in the earth or in the heaven.
(Surah Ibrahim-37-38)

After this prayer he set out for Kennan and reached to his wife Sairah. Now Hazrat Hajirah paid her full attention to her son. Seeing him, she got some consolation and affection with which she forgot some impending troubles and painful sufferings in the solitude for the time being. And as much as she absorbed in his love, she forgot the feelings of loneliness and ill fate, which were destined to her in this desolated valley. But when she ran short of dates and water and the innocent son was anguish with thirst. She stood puzzled and started looking for water.

When she could not find anything somewhere, she thought of climbing up a hill. The nearest hill was Safah in this valley. She climbed up Safah hill and put a glance at the surroundings to find something and set ears to listen any voice but there was nothing but calmness and horror ……………..Then ……………… (To be continued)
